“Beautifully polished and bright, the 2013 Montecucco Sangiovese Riserva Poggio Lombrone is a pure expression of Sangiovese from the wild and rustic hills of the Montecucco appellation along the Tuscan coast. This wine is fermented in open cone-shaped oak vats with gentle, manual punch-downs and longer maceration times. Fruit is sourced from 50-year-old vines planted in tufaceous clay and calcareous marl soils on a breezy perch located 300 meters above sea level. This is a beautiful creation with an impressive sense of cherry brightness and purity of fruit. Drink 2018-2028” Monia Larner
This wine is fermented in open oak fermenters, goes through full malolactic it is aged in large (40Hl) barrels for 30 months then aged 24 additional months in bottle before release. It’s a really nice wine.
