The Damilano 2022 Barbera d’Asti Zero Sette has very ripe and somewhat heavy aromas of stewed blackberry and baked plum. The fruit is cloying and sweet with a chocolate-covered cherry aroma and even a hint of toasted espresso bean; coffee candies come to mind. The effect is heavy and one-dimensional. This is a 70,000-bottle release.
