Description
Syrah (60%), Grenache noir (30%), Carignan noir (5%), Mourvèdre (5%), fermentation in stainless steel vats. The Syrah is vinified in barrels for 10 months, each grape variety is aged separately for 10 months in new barrels before final blending.
A word from the wine merchant:
Roussillon wine with a purple color , deserves to be discovered after decanting. A complex nose with floral aromas , ripe fruits with notes of scrubland and tobacco . In the mouth a beautiful substance , tannins of great elegance .
The 2019 red Volte Face from Domaine de la Toupie, AOP Côtes-du-Roussillon-Villages should be served slightly chilled: it goes perfectly with confits, game, meat in sauce, etc.

A barrel-aged blend of 60% Syrah, 25% Grenache and 15% Mourvèdre, the 2019 Côtes du Roussillon Villages Volte Face boasts flashes of cedar and vanilla (roughly one-third of the oak is new), backed by peppered black cherries and hints of redder fruit. Complex on the nose, it’s medium to full-bodied on the palate, with softly dusty tannins providing a gentle framework for this ripe, generous wine. It should drink well for another 4-5 years, at least.
