Description
Salento, a limestone-rich peninsula in Apulia, is one of the oldest wine-growing regions in the world. This region is known for the aromatic Primitivo grape, which forms the basis for the Doppio Passo Primitivo. Elegant, intense and fruity – this is how this wine presents itself.
What distinguishes the Doppio Passo from other Italian red wines is the double fermentation. One part of the Primitivo grapes is harvested early and fermented on the skins, while the other part remains on the vines until it has reached a high concentration of fruit, aromas and sugar. This is followed by a second fermentation of the entire mash. The result is a particularly dense and tasty red wine from southern Italy.
The red wine is matured in stainless steel tanks before being sealed with a natural cork.
