Description
Flor de Cana has been family-owned since 1890 and is a sustainably produced rum. In 1875, Alfredo Francisco Pellas Canessa, a young adventurer from Genoa, Italy, left his family to travel to Nicaragua. There, at the foot of the San Cristobal volcano, the highest and most active volcano in the country, he discovered the perfect location for a distillery. The fertility of the soil, the mineral-rich water and the hot volcanic climate proved to be decisive for the unique and smooth taste of the rum.
Today, Flor de Cana stands for a greener future and is recognized as a Fair Trade-certified spirit. The rum, a four-year-old premium rum, contains no sugar and is produced sustainably. With five generations of family history, it is naturally matured, free from artificial additives, distilled entirely with renewable energy and KOSHER-certified. The rum is characterized by a medium body and a long, smooth finish that lingers on the palate.
