Description
- Invecchiata (aged) grappa produced at Caffo Distilleria Friulia in Udine, Italy
- Made from 100% Italian red and white grape pomace
- Distilled in a bain-marie-style alembic pot still wherein the grape skins are steam distilled
- Aged in oak casks for 1 year
- The nose provides aromas of steamed jasmine rice, stone ground wheat, wood pulp, and cherimoya custard apple; the palate shows great balance of dry fruit and barrel notes with red apple skin, sourdough bread, and toasted barley with faint vanilla and white oak on the finish
- 40% ABV
In accordance with the G.I. for grappa, this invecchiata is produced in Italy using 100% Italian-grown grape pomace and is barrel aged at least 1 year. The time spent in oak further rounds out the harsh edges typically associated with grappa and lends a warm, confectionary embrace to this elegant spirit.
