An Islay single malt that is matured in ex-bourbon barrels, barrier-filtered and bottled at natural distillery strength. This gives a depth of genuine taste and texture normally associated with sampling a whisky at its source. Whisky at cask strength may overpower the palate, but adding water will release a rich aroma of peat smoke with some sweetness and strong hints of the sea.

Look for a distinctly peaty aroma, with hints of smoked fish, bacon and mesquite. The palate shows peat smoke from the first sip plus an undercurrent of honey, finishing with black pepper heat. Water brings out a spearmint note and a touch more vanilla.
