Description
This wine has a garnet red color, illuminated by ruby reflections with a very light orange note. The bouquet is ethereal, fresh, elegant and very persistent, with memories of violet, rose, licorice and sweet spices. Long and intense is the aromatic persistence. It should be served in crystal glasses with a very large glass. Perfect with flavorful traditional meat dishes. It is superb with braised beef, game and aged cheese.

This red is expressive and harmonious, boasting aromas and flavors of ripe cherry, berry, mint, leather and tobacco, framed by spicy new oak. The oak brings an extra layer of tannins that are integrated and balanced. Best from 2024 through 2038. 1,416 cases made, 800 cases imported.

The 2017 Barolo La Serra needs time to come together, but it could turn out to be quite good. Sweet red cherry, kirsch, spice, mint and wild flowers give the 2017 a very pretty upper register to play off its translucent personality. Firm La Serra tannins lurk beneath, which lends a slightly nervous, tense feel.
