Description
Founded in 1743 by Claude Moet in Epernay, France, Moet & Chandon has become a leading name in the champagne market. Jean-Remy Moet, a descendant of the founder, acquired the former Hautvillers monastery in 1794, where the monk Dom Perignon developed his pioneering champagne production techniques. This was a decisive step that further consolidated the quality and reputation of Moet & Chandon.
The association with historical figures such as Napoleon Bonaparte, a close friend of Jean-Remy Moet, helped to popularize the champagne on international campaigns and increased its popularity worldwide. Moet & Chandon always remained based in Epernay and became synonymous with high-quality champagne.
1987 marked another milestone when Moet Hennessy merged with Louis Vuitton to form the luxury goods group LVMH, now known worldwide for its exclusive products.
Moet & Chandon Champagne Ice Imperial, an innovation from Moet & Chandon, is the first champagne specifically designed to be enjoyed on ice. This champagne combines freshness with a pleasant sweetness and is made from the classic grape varieties Pinot Noir, Meunier and Chardonnay. After maturing, it is bottled and sealed with a natural cork.
The Marquise de Pompadour once summed up the essence of champagne when she said: “Champagne is the only wine in the world that makes every woman beautiful.” The Moet Ice Imperial adds a modern twist to this tradition by offering a completely new drinking experience – perfect for those looking for something special.
