Description
With this new vintage, Purple Angel shows a deep, carmine-red colour, typical of Carmenère. The aromas are complex, with pronounced black fruit, like blackberry and ripe blueberry. There is also dried plum, cooked cherry and candied fruit. Its 18 months in French oak gives a complex nose of toasted aromas, nuts, sweet spice and touches of dairy and vanilla. On the palate, the flavours follow on from the aromas, with sensations of dark fruit and dairy well balanced with the toast. It is finely balanced, with good body and a long finish.

Such an amazing, floral nose with blackberries, blueberries, violets and other flowers. Full-bodied, yet so balanced and refined with vibrancy and energy. It’s really racy and exciting with a super long, beautiful finish. Tight and super polished. Needs two or three years to open more. Beauty. Drink after 2021.

This blend of Carménère (92%) and Petit Verdot (8%) is a stunning example of Chile’s sophisticated presence on the global wine stage. Powerfully aromatic scents of violets and crushed blueberries give way to a silky entry of dark chocolate, espresso, and sour cherries. A grilled meatiness ensues on the palate against a slate backdrop.

Opulent and plush, with intriguing paprika and cumin accents to the ripe dark fruit flavors. The lavishly spiced finish is backed by medium-grained tannins, complemented by enveloping creamy details. Carmenere and Petit Verdot. Drink now through 2025. 17,000 cases made, 5,000 cases imported.

Blended with 8% Petit Verdot also from Colchagua, this Purple Angel Carménère has a mentholated, thyme-infused nose with clear hints of ripe blackberry and cherry and smoky wood. A delicate wine with good volume in the mouth. The lush feel and muscular but loose tannins add nutmeg and cedar at the end.
