Description
The spicy perfumed nose has undertones of dark fruits. Each variety in the blend adds balance to the wine, filling your palate. Tinta Barocca brings tannin, Cinsault brings perfume, Carignan brings freshness, Grenache brings fruit character, and the Syrah ties it all together. Enjoy now and over the next 2-3 years.

The 2018 Kloof Street Swartland Rouge is a blend of several varieties that undergo natural fermentation and 11 months in used 500-liter oak barrels. It has an understated but well-defined bouquet of brambly red berry fruit mixed with warm gravel and undergrowth. The medium-bodied palate offers crisp blackberry and raspberry fruit, nicely integrated oak and a clean, linear, tobacco-tinged finish. Enjoy this over the next three to five years.

A blend of 44% Tinta Barocca, 44% Syrah, 7% Grenache, 4% Cinsault and 1% Carignan, the 2018 Kloof Street Rouge begins with a juicy nose and subtle spice tones of black pepper, red cassis, dusty plum and hints of jerky in the glass. Medium to full-bodied, the palate is fresh with a soft dustiness, offering notions of baked clay and leather before showing flavors of dusty blackberries and cracked pepper across the mid-palate. Ending with a lingering finish, this wine delivers at an amazing price. Check it out.
