Description
Old Grand-Dad 114 Proof is bottled at barrel-strength, delivering the full flavor of bourbon whiskey with notes of spicy characteristic of higher percentage of rye in the bourbon mash. OGD 114 is truly a super-premium bourbon in that it comes off the still lower than the other Old Grand-Dad expressions at 127 proof. The benefit? The lower the proof that a spirit comes off the still, the more it retains the flavor from the grain.

Nice bouquet that includes defined aromas of buttered corn-on-the-cob, sawdust, freshly sawed pine, cedar, baking spices and dried fruit. Entry is vividly spirited and potent but not harsh or overpowering; the midpalate highlights corn meal, breakfast cereal, orange rind, dark chocolate and toffee. Sophisticated, yet powerful and assertive.
