The Platzer Chardonnay Vulkanland Steiermark DAC 2024 is a white wine full of character that combines the mineral depth and finesse of the Styrian volcanic region. Produced by the Platzer winery, a family business based in Tieschen in south-eastern Styria, this DAC wine exemplifies the delicate style and terroir-driven vinification of this up-and-coming wine region. The vines thrive on medium-heavy, lime-free cultivated soils of igneous weathered rock – a geological treasure that lends the wines of this region an unmistakable spiciness and elegance.
Vinification follows the classic Styrian line: temperature-controlled fermentation and ageing in stainless steel tanks ensure that the fruit and freshness are in the foreground.
