Description
The apricots used for this fine Rochelt schnapps come exclusively from the Wachau, a region known for its high-quality fruit. The hand-picked apricots are carefully cleaned immediately after harvesting and mashed directly on site on the same day. Rochelt distils the naturally fermented and completely additive-free mash in two passes in a copper kettle according to old tradition, which preserves the full aroma of the apricots.
Around 15 kg of this high-quality fruit is needed to produce 1 liter of schnapps. After distillation, the schnapps is stored in the attic for at least 7 years, where it develops its incomparable smoothness during this long maturing period and at the same time acquires a remarkable mildness and density, making it a particularly fine and sought-after drop.
