Description

Intense ruby ​​red with purple reflections. It has a rich and intense bouquet, with fruity notes reminiscent of marasca, plum and small fruits. On the palate you will find the sensations perceived by the smell pleasantly linked to a slight tannicity. It is perfect accompanied with typical fatty pork, poultry or wild game or strawberry pie.

Refosco dal Peduncolo Rosso is an ancient native variety, born between the Carso and Istria, whose presence has been attested since 1467.

The name derives from the position of the vineyard: the term “ronco” in Friulian means “hilly plot”, just as the mulberries – trees that surround the vineyard – are called “moreri” in Friulian.
