Description
The Tement winery, located in southern Styria on the border with Slovenia, concentrates primarily on the cultivation of white grape varieties. 95% of its vineyards are planted with varieties such as Welschriesling, Sauvignon Blanc, Gelber Muskateller, Pinot Blanc, Morillon and Traminer. The wines, which are grouped under the name “Steirische Klassik”, come from different vineyards and mature in stainless steel tanks. In addition to the “Steirische Klassik”, the winery also produces single-vineyard wines, each of which reflects the characteristic influence of its specific vineyard site and is matured in both large and small wooden barrels.
The Gelber Muskateller is made from grapes from seven selected vines grown on the estate’s sandy and slate soils. The manual harvesting of the ripe grapes, combined with a gentle ageing process, guarantees the ideal degree of maturity of the wine, which matures in stainless steel tanks and can be stored until 2031. A natural cork is used to seal the bottles.
