Description
The Deveron 12 Years Old is an approachable yet characterful single malt Scotch whisky from the Macduff Distillery, located on the north-east coast of Scotland. The distillery was founded in 1960 and is located near the mouth of the River Deveron, whose name gives this whisky its identity. The region is geographically part of the Highlands, but stylistically the Deveron is rather mild and maritime, which sets it apart from other Highland malts.
The 12-year-old Deveron is made from malted barley and matures for over a decade in a combination of American oak casks and refill bourbon casks. This carefully balanced maturation ensures a well-balanced flavor profile with fruity, nutty and slightly creamy notes. The gentle processing in traditional copper stills, combined with the fresh coastal sea air, characterizes the round and easily accessible style of this single malt.
With an alcohol content of 40 % vol., Deveron 12 offers a pleasantly smooth drinking experience – ideal for newcomers to the world of single malts as well as for experienced connoisseurs looking for an elegant whisky suitable for everyday drinking. The classically designed 0.7-litre bottle is complemented by maritime-inspired packaging that visually underlines its origins and character.
