This wine is super approachable; cassis, black currants, choke cherries and baking spice. The multi-grape 2019 Cala N.1 was produced with 77% Tempranillo, 15% Syrah, 6% Cabernet Sauvignon and 1% each Sauvignon Blanc and Roussanne, a typical blend from La Mancha (save the white grapes) with 14.5% alcohol and moderate acidity. It fermented and matured in concrete, except for a brief stage in used barrel at the end. It’s ripe, juicy and discreet, not very expressive in aromas or flavors, easy to drink. 50,000 bottles.
